From our beginnings in 2008 to today, the Newaygo County Environmental Coalition, 501(c)3, has a history of supporting local sustainability and conservation efforts. We envision a healthy environment and sustainable future for our lands, waters and skies through three initiatives: information, education, and advocacy.

NCEC’s board of Directors  is a group of passionate Newaygo County residents, elected to guide the organization in growth and works under the established bylaws.  They are responsible for making key decisions that affect the organization’s mission, strategy, and goals. The board also ensures that the organization complies with legal and ethical standards, and acts as the organization’s legal voice.
Our members are people just like you. We live in Newaygo County.  We love the bountiful nature we have around us and want to protect and sustain its health and abundance. If this sounds like you, join us!
NCEC Environmental Allies are people and groups who are actively doing the work of environmental protection, promotion, and education in Newaygo County. NCEC’s goal is to support what you are already doing, linking you to other groups and resources with the same goals. Contact us to find out how we can support you or your group.
NCEC Teams are members who have banded together to do environmental work with a certain focus within one of our 4 Focus Areas: Environmental Youth, LOBO, 3R, and Healthy Habitats.  Currently, we have two developed teams: 3R & Small Growers/Producers. Two teams are developing: MI Green Schools and Newaygo County Vernal Pool Patrol.

Teams are developed out of members’ interest areas.
Our advisors are individuals with expertise in specified fields related to sustainability. They help us evaluate, mitigate,  and resolve problems and come up with innovative solutions. If you feel you have expertise to offer please reach out to us!

Our Mission is to promote the environmental health and sustainability of Newaygo County through INFORMATION, EDUCATION, and ADVOCACY.
